EcoMemoryFoam Launches Plant-Based Memory Foam Mattresses

As fuel prices rise and environmental threats loom, consumers are deeply aware of the world around them and many are trying to “go green.” In fact, according to the 2007 Cone Consumer Environmental Survey, 93 percent of Americans now believe companies also have a responsibility to help preserve the environment.

To that end, Anatomic Global, Inc. has announced they are setting an industry standard for eco-friendly specialty sleep products with the launch of EcoMemoryFoam, a line of plant-based memory foam offerings. EcoMemoryFoam mattresses, pads and pillows will officially launch at World Market in Las Vegas, and the company is actively recruiting furniture retail partners who share in their vision to bring eco-friendly products to the marketplace.

“Consumers indicate they are 66 percent* more likely to purchase a product if they believe the company is environmentally conscious,” said Jeff Scorziell, President of EcoMemoryFoam. “We have studied the green market extensively, and we know how to turn this trend into dollars. We set out to manufacture a memory foam product that was earth-friendly, but we also wanted to give consumers a sleep product that was extremely comfortable and supportive—to let them wake up feeling rested and refreshed.”

EcoMemoryFoam applied 20 years of medical research to create the patent-pending Neutral Posture Support System, which is scientifically designed with seven support zones to relieve the stress on your back muscles and refresh the body. A common complaint about traditional memory foam is that it traps heat, so EcoMemoryFoam used innovative open-cell technology to design a mattress that breathes so you can sleep cooler.

David L. Farley, President and CEO of Anatomic Global, “Sustainable Global Comfort” creators of the EcoMemory Foam Mattresses has led his company with a vision for finding healthier ways to sleep, and a commitment environmentally friendly practices. Farley informed BEDROOM that, “The response we received from the Vegas market introduction of our EcoMemoryFoam products has been enormous, particularly the mattress.  We have, therefore, shifted our emphasis to this product and perhaps more importantly, to establishing a new national dealer network.”

In the past, environmentally friendly products have not always been friendly on the pocketbook, typically costing more than petroleum-based or synthetic products. But EcoMemoryFoam is proving that doesn’t have to be the case, since their mattresses cost 10 to 15 percent less than traditional memory foam products. EcoMemoryFoam is manufactured in the US, and the company can ship anywhere within 48 hours, which allows retailers to avoid large inventories.

“Consumers know the difference between green washing and truly earth-friendly products. So by offering a line of mattresses that are earth-friendly from top to bottom, retailers can build customer loyalty and increase profits,” said Scorziell.

In addition to replacing a high percentage of the petroleum used in traditional memory foam with a 100 percent plant-based product, EcoMemoryFoam also uses patented zero emissions technology throughout the manufacturing and refining process. The company has developed innovative packaging methods for a reduced shipping footprint, and other sustainable resources like bamboo are used for materials and packaging.
