Comfortaire Expands Distribution with Traditional and Specialty Mattress Retailers by Offering Premium Individualized Sleep Comfort Systems
When Comfortaire introduced a basic airbed design 27 years ago, it was their first airbed in the marketplace. Today, that design remains the industry standard and serves as the template adopted by Comfortaire’s competitors. The original design focus was on an independently adjustable surface, utilizing deep filled latex/cotton air chambers placed inside foam sidewalls and surrounded by a zippered cover. While this design is functionally adequate, Comfortaire has moved beyond this design to offer a truly innovative premium sleep system.
Eric Rose, Vice President of Operations, informs BEDROOM that today the company offers a radically different and unique concept that combines cutting edge technology with the newest bedding materials to provide a truly outstanding sleep product. “Our mission is to provide innovative sleep solutions. So, rather than maintaining the industry standards for airbeds, we have done what we do best. We have created an air control system that provides true individual sleep solutions with a hundred comfort settings for each partner, individualized one-touch memory setting and a one-touch instant fill. Additionally our air chambers overcome the inherent issues of the industry standard latex/cotton chamber. We offer chambers with proprietary urethane alloy construction, a low profile, both antifungal and anti-microbial properties, as well as flame suppressants and the capability to wick moisture and conform to the sleeper’s body.”
“We use our low profile Box-Top Aire™ mattress to place the air in the surface of the mattress where it gently cushions each body shape and provides critical posture alignment. Our mattresses allow each sleeper to find his own comfort setting.”
Rose points out that the Comfortaire line goes beyond just air mattresses, offering foam constructions as well. Comfortaire’s foam mattress line contains the same unique ability to insert premium foam toppers into the top of the mattress in order to customize sleeping posture on each side of the mattress. “Our retailers can offer consumers mattresses that contain visco-elastic memory foam, Talalay latex, our Embrace foam, air, as well as combinations of these technologies. The key for us is always providing discerning consumers with the ability to control the surface of their mattress, meeting each sleeper’s unique needs.
The new Comfortaire line is currently featured in over 500 retail outlets. Rose stresses that Comfortaire offers a total individualized mattress program, including detailed retailer training, point of purchase and a distinct features/benefits program that will enhance the sales capability of sleep retailers.
“We remain the leaders in offering specialty mattress programs to independent furniture stores, department stores, sleep shops and other specialty sleep stores by offering a total product and merchandising package second to none,” states Rose.
