Coast to Coast Latex Sales, Service

and Fabrication from Latexco

Edited by: Dale T. Read, Editor-in-Chief

Latexco, "the World’s largest producer of latex foam components for the bedding industry" is covering the United States coast to coast like one of their own custom molded and designed latex foam toppers. Not only is the company’s presence from one coast to the other (proper fit) but they have taken a really hard look at the needs of manufacturers and retailers, and they are providing responsive, tailored service to meet those needs (proper features and performance). In 2006, the company opened their new latex production facility in Georgia. Initially, the focus was fabrication and distribution of products produced in Belgium & Spain. However in the summer of 2007, the Georgia plant began the production of toppers, composites and continuous rolls for quilting. In late 2008, production is scheduled for latex mattress cores. According to Kevin Callinan of Latexco United States and Roger Coffey of SleepComp, a division of Latexco, the facility utilizes the most efficient latex foam production technology in today’s market. The company’s newest facility allows it to be highly responsive to the needs of US manufacturers and retailers. Latexco proudly adds this world class production facility to their impressive and growing list of latex manufacturing sites.

As the company moved to establish an East coast manufacturing and fabrication presence, Latexco also acquired SleepComp, a well established latex and polyurethane foam fabrication and distribution entity, headquartered in Buena Park California. SleepComp, a division of Latexco LLC, is providing comprehensive service to the bedding industry in the western United States.

As Latexco expands across the US they have set a clear business objective and measurement of supplier success for all locations servicing the United States. The one objective is to assure that quality products are delivered in a timely manner at a competitive price anywhere in the US. To further assure the achievement of this goal Latexco is now working with ALAVA in Chicago, servicing the Midwest with a full line of Latexco products.

According to Lavonia, Georgia-based Chief Operating Officer Vincent Gesquière, Latexco is ready to continue their expansion into the global market. "Our focus has been to develop and construct the most technologically advanced latex foam production facilities in the world. This goal has been accomplished with our new facilities in Spain, Georgia and California. We have chosen our US team very carefully. To the best of our knowledge, our US staff has far more American latex mattress design and sales expertise than any other latex supplier. Our service, products and creativity will soon be recognized as integral components to a quality US latex bedding program. Our focus will always be our customer’s needs serviced by our highly experienced staff."

Product Innovations . . .

The Better of Two Worlds

The highly competitive Western European latex mattress market stands at a 20% market share. Competition there has lead to deep comprehensive research and new latex product developments. Latexco is recognized as the most innovative latex manufacturing force in the world. Latexco executives believe that when European marketing research/development and US production capabilities are combined, Latexco becomes the preferred latex source in the US, one that will take a program from a concept to the retail floor for the mattress maker.

Latexco offers retailers and manufacturers their own individualized programs. Latexco builds exclusive molds for each major customer. According to SleepComp President, Roger Coffey, "Latexco supplies each major mattress maker with its own group of exclusive designs. We avoid selling ‘me too’ latex components that typically erode our customer’s margin when confronted with similar products from their competition".

Latexco Thinks You Should Know The Real Pluses of Offering Latex Mattresses, Toppers and Pillows to your Customers

Edited by: Dale T. Read, Editor-in-Chief

Should you the mattress, bedding, top-of-bed retailer offer a latex line as part of your overall mattress, pillow and topper selection? Should you strongly request that one or more of your principal sleep products manufacturers not only offer latex, but offer latex from a particular supplier for whatever good business decision you may conclude? As a retailer there are really two overriding issues, beyond such immediate concerns as performance, pricing, location, (you name it) which determine whether a mattress bedding retailer should carry latex bedding products. The secondary reason is in fact the particular advantages and disadvantages, features and benefits, conveniences or inconveniences, pricing strategy, storage issues, shipping presented to you by your principal manufacturers and their suppliers of choice. The FIRST and primary reason is the features and benefits offered by latex to your customers. How can you make a solid profit margin and succeed at business, in fact enhance business, by offering a quality latex line to your sleep products customers? What are the critical benefits offered by a quality latex line and how will you as a retailer and your customers benefit by your offering such a line?

Latexco® of Belgium, Latexco® United States and Sleep Comp, a Division of Latexco® offer the following for your consideration confident that the more you know and understand about latex, the more likely you’ll decide to offer latex products, and the more likely you will specify Latexco as the latex supplier of choice.

Kevin Callinan of Latexco United States and Roger Coffey of SleepComp encourage you to: Discover the True Nature of Sleeping

Bedding products manufacturers and their retailers are challenged by LatexcoUS to:

Think Green . . . TWICE!

The demand for natural and environmentally-friendly materials is increasing. Money-making "green" materials are in even greater demand. LatexcoUS notes that latex mattress sales are booming at much higher than average unit selling prices than most other mattresses; latex sleep products offer great margins for both the mattress and pillow maker and the sleep products retailer. Green marketing is growing everywhere from the stock market to auto purchases. Consumers want products with natural origins. Latex mattresses are a perfect fit for this demand while also fulfilling the desires of comfort and quality.

Latexco brand latex components offer more features and benefits than any other brand of latex components. More bells and whistles equals higher sales volumes at higher margins.

While some manufacturers and retailers may think of latex sleep products as new or innovative products, the fact is that natural latex mattresses have a long history of success and comfort. Known by industry professionals as "The Mattress Makers Mattress", the latex mattress is purchased by both young and old. Both segments are growing markets.

Latexco-USA offers insight on the market to retailers and manufacturers:

There are two unique customer bases that are pushing latex mattress sales: The extremely loyal customer base is comprised of those individuals who remember the long lasting comfort from the 1950s and 1960s when latex mattresses were 6% of the US market. The new customer is one who wants to invest in the best to improve his/her quality of life. She appreciates the advanced technology features offered by latex, providing better health and better sleep. This new customer also appreciates the natural origins and environmental friendliness that latex mattresses offer with naturally derived products and improved manufacturing technologies which are good for the planet.

Latex mattress margins are typically 20% higher on designs that use Latexco components than those made by other latex producers, while offering more features and benefits. "The components that are available are only limited by the depth of imagination," says Coffey. Designs with 3, 5, or 7 zones, with or without surface modifications or horizontal vent channels, are just a few of many design options. Cores are from 4" to 8" thick, with or without edge support. Toppers start at .4" and are also available with zoning. Latex quilting rolls are now commonly found in mattresses that range in price from $699 to $5,999 retail.

Latexco also notes that "composites" are the next generation of latex components that will increase demand. When combined with other mattress components, latex composites create very unique feels with numerous marketing bells and whistles that add to latex mattress sales.

We become partners in success which creates mutual loyalty and future successes."
