Englander Sleep Products Announces New President

Kevin L. Toman to Lead Company in Brand Strategies and Positioning

Englander® Sleep Products LLC announced on May 29th that it has named Kevin L. Toman as president of the company to lead its seven shareholder factories into a new phase of growth and brand strategy. A 35-year veteran of the bedding industry, Toman has a depth and breadth of experience in both national corporations as well as in licensee consortiums.

Toman started his career at the Simmons Corporation and later served as vice president of sales with Sealy Mattress, where he created new channels of distribution and increased sales by $55 million. He was brought in by Silentnight Holdings, UK as president and CEO of Silentnight U.S.A. (A Serta licensee) to develop a turnaround strategy that included a revamp of the IT department, construction of a new factory and oversight of all international licensee agreements. The company became profitable within a year, and his actions ultimately resulted in a 75 percent sales growth and the profitable sale of the company to National Bedding Corporation.

Most recently Mr. Toman was president and CEO of Restonic Mattress Corporation, where he created strategies to enhance and improve the Brand’s image, added seven international and U.S. licensees and instituted the first UL approved mattress in the U.S. While at Restonic, he served on the Board of Trustees of the International Sleep Products Association.

"Kevin’s industry experience and global perspective will serve us well as we take the brand to a higher, more visible level," said Mark Savel, chair of the Englander Marketing Committee. "Now that this 100-year old brand is back in the hands of the owners, we are enthusiastic about having a president who can be fully devoted to building upon our many innovations and industry firsts."
