Englander® Sleep Products LLC
announced on May 29th that it has named Kevin L. Toman as president
of the company to lead its seven shareholder factories into a new
phase of growth and brand strategy. A 35-year veteran of the bedding
industry, Toman has a depth and breadth of experience in both
national corporations as well as in licensee consortiums.
Toman started his career at the Simmons
Corporation and later served as vice president of sales with Sealy
Mattress, where he created new channels of distribution and
increased sales by $55 million. He was brought in by Silentnight
Holdings, UK as president and CEO of Silentnight U.S.A. (A Serta
licensee) to develop a turnaround strategy that included a revamp of
the IT department, construction of a new factory and oversight of
all international licensee agreements. The company became profitable
within a year, and his actions ultimately resulted in a 75 percent
sales growth and the profitable sale of the company to National
Bedding Corporation.
Most recently Mr. Toman was president and CEO of
Restonic Mattress Corporation, where he created strategies to
enhance and improve the Brand’s image, added seven international and
U.S. licensees and instituted the first UL approved mattress in the
U.S. While at Restonic, he served on the Board of Trustees of the
International Sleep Products Association.
