Hannah Hu of Hannah Group Enterprises ( info@hannahmattress.com ) believes firmly that Chinese imports will play a bigger and bigger role in the American mattress, pillow and sleep products market. Hu further believes that the company she represents, Poseidon Furniture Chemical Industry Co., LTD located in Shenzhen Guangdong Mainland China is well positioned to become a global competitor in the foam and mattress market. Hu, who operates out of San Francisco, California says that Poseidon is very aware of the needs and requirements necessary to do business in the US.

Hu informs BEDROOM Magazine that Poseidon Furniture Chemical Industry Co., LTD is one of the leading suppliers of foam products in China. With over thirty years of production experience, Poseidon has one of the largest foam/rubber production lines in the world, along with top-level cutting and recycling capabilities. Hu explains that Poseidon has over 50 different types of foam products including: polyether foam, polyester foam, renewable foam, high resilience foam, mattress-high loading foam, fire retardant foam, membrane density foam and even sponge products. Hu points out that Poseidon’s foam products are widely used in furniture, automobiles, footwear, clothing, packaging, electronics, chemicals, cosmetics, fitness equipment, and of course bedding and mattresses.

When asked what marketing message Poseidon wishes to send to the American mattress and bedding market, Hu states, "Poseidon provides a complete, one-stop shop for all a customer’s mattress needs from high grade coil systems, pocketed encased coils, bed padding, and even ticking. Discussing the Poseidon factory, Hu states: "We have more than 400 employees and a 500,000 square foot manufacturing facility. With our size and production capacity, we have the facilities and the scale to handle the largest and most demanding orders with efficiency and service. Our economies of scale and low overhead allow Poseidon to manufacture the highest quality foam for mattresses, toppers and pillows at the lowest possible cost."

Focusing on product specifications Hu tells BEDROOM Magazine that Poseidon foam mattresses meet the most stringent possible safety standards, and that the mattresses are fully compliant with the new 2007 State of California Standard for the Flammability (Open flame) of Mattress Sets (16 CFR PART 1633.). Poseidon offers fire retardant products designated to meet California Bulletin 117 or other similar requirements in almost all foam grades and all mattress/bedding end products.

Hu notes that using state-of-the-art precision cutting equipment, Poseidon offers a complete range of products with a variety of widths, thicknesses, and densities, as well as quilting and other mattress and furniture applications. The company’s high resilient foam products (minimum 1.25lbs. cu foot) provide enhanced comfort and support for sleep products.
