Simmons Focused on Centralized Dealer Services Accounts
at April 2006 High Point Furniture Market

Very often market after
market as retailers walk through the doors of a
mattress/bedding showroom, they expect to be romanced
and walked through the latest product line up. Isn’t
that what they are there for in most cases, to see the
newest product offerings? However Simmons Bedding
Company decided to do something a little different for
the High Point market this past April. The well known
number two bedding company used the opportunity of the
spring High Point Furniture Market to focus on the large
number of Simmons dealers that utilize Simmons resources
for specialized sales support, such as communication
programs, merchandising strategies and specific service
needs. Simmons has created a dedicated team known as
Centralized Dealer Services (CDS) to meet the unique
needs of this dealer base.
The CDS team consists of retail account managers that
are trained to provide comprehensive retailer support
including merchandising, marketing, advertising and
promotional programs. Simmons’ emphasis on its CDS
accounts in High Point allowed Simmons brand retailers
to receive special attention from their account
managers, ensuring that each of their individual needs
is met.

sales service possible,” said Steve Fendrich, Simmons’
executive vice president of sales. “In recent months, we
have taken steps to increase our effectiveness through a
sales realignment, which included the creation of the
CDS team. The focus of our efforts at the April High
Point Market to our CDS accounts was really just part of
our ongoing plan to improve client service by
streamlining the sales process.”

Services informed BEDROOM Magazine that the CDS program
is being fine tuned at the present time to offer the
Simmons dealer network the very best program possible.
When that process is completed BEDROOM Magazine will
revisit this entire program with a detailed,
comprehensive report to retailers.
