Hallmart Collectibles Means Added Top-of-Bed Business

and Margins for Furniture Stores

Looking for Retail Business Partners

If the top-of-bed fashion designers and marketers at Hallmart Collectibles had it their way, every furniture and home furnishings retailer in the US would be successfully merchandising top-of-bed products, and the leaders at Hallmart have set out to help furniture retailers achieve that very objective. Hallmart Collectibles, the exclusive producer of ‘fashion bedding’ for such design icons as Kathy Ireland Home® and Alexander Julian® At Home, as well as the creators of Hallmart Collectibles Home Fashion, are unfolding a program designed to place top-of-bed products on the showroom floors of furniture dealers all across the U.S.

Recently the manufacturer/importer has developed an approach for its retail furniture dealers to bring a greater emphasis to ‘fashion bedding’. According to Hallmart Vice President of Sales, Jesse Ghalili, “Top of Bed has generally been used to dress up sales floors, to enhance the beauty of bedroom furniture. At Hallmart, we see the category for furniture merchants as representing a great opportunity to increase sales, profits and customer satisfaction.”

Hallmart estimates the annual volume potential for individual furniture stores to be in the $1200 to $1500 range for every bedroom group shown. They have developed a formula as a basis for calculation and they think it is a conservative estimate of possible business generated by top-of-bed products. Ghalili explains, “Display is a vital element to retail success. Thousands of dollars are just sitting there gathering dust. It’s no different with ‘fashion bedding’ much of which is not always priced correctly, or presented in an appealing and successful manner. That is why we decided to take action and develop a program to highlight ‘fashion bedding’. Highly visible products that are in stock and offered in an appealing way will sell with greater frequency.”

Hallmart also believes their program will create opportunities for impulse sales because of the visual impact their unique display modules create. “Consumers will know without any question that the furniture store is in the ‘fashion bedding’ business,” notes Ghalili.

Hallmart has created display modules for both adult and juvenile bedding. “We are providing these units at no charge for dealers who want to jump start their ‘fashion bedding’ business,” Ghalili further notes. “The response has been exceptional. Dealers have recognized that bedding has been overlooked. They are always looking for ways to create incremental business, add-on sales. It is a win-win because sales associates will get behind a program that the dealer backs with stock.”

Furniture/home furnishing retailers are encouraged to visit Hallmart Collectibles in High Point during the spring market. Hallmart is located at Showplace at High Point where their Display program will be featured this Spring.
