Protect-All /GBS Enterprises Takes Showroom in Las Vegas and Expands Mattress/Pillow Protection Line

 

GBS Enterprises, a top mattress protection and sleep accessory producer, has been on the move both with a new Las Vegas market showroom space (Building B-930) and with the introduction of new products, expanding the company’s offering of top-of-bed health and protection products. But then nothing less would be expected from mattress/bedding veteran Dave Powers who is president of the GBS Enterprises. “We’ve enjoyed high double digit sales increases over the past 3 years,” stated Powers. He tells BEDROOM Magazine that this significant growth has dictated the move to Building B in the World Market Center. Recognizing the growth in the luxury and comfort category through latex, GBS has opted to share showroom space with Latex International, a premium supplier of latex pillows and sleep surface modification. “The showroom alliance was a natural progression for both companies, considering display space requirements. I’ve admired the Latex luxury story for years in the sleep industry,” Powers stated.

 

“The move to Building B from temporary space provides GBS Enterprises with a prominent presence in the World Market Center and a premium venue for their mattress protection and other premium sleep accessories,” continued Powers. While the company has enjoyed exponential sales growth, it has enhanced its company roster as well. Powers joined the company as President in February of 2006. Since then the company has restructured its “people assets” to include the promotion of Jennifer Murphy to Operations & Finance Manager, hiring industry veteran Michael Inman as VP sales, hiring Philip Burrell as Corporate Trainer, adding Cathy Stuelpnagel as Sales Administration liaison, promoting Billie Kranau to Customer Service Administrator and promoting Jen Timm to Finance Assistant and Raw Materials Liaison. In addition, GBS has bolstered its sales representation and training staff to over 30 personnel in 2007.

 

Mike Svoboda, CEO and motivator has been instrumental in the compilation of “the A Team” as he calls it. “I’m a strong believer that people are our greatest assets,” stated Svoboda.

 

Launched Step-Up Mattress Protector Line in Las Vegas

Powers enthusiastically demonstrated to BEDROOM Magazine the new “Three Levels of Protection” program offered to mattress retailers. With GBS Enterprise’s new expanded line of super and ultra premium mattress protectors, mattress retailers can now offer a mattress protection program. “We are very excited about what we offer the retailer and consumer. This expanded product line introduction ties in perfectly with the psychology of selling in the mattress arena for which mattress protection has become the preferred value addition for each sales ticket,” Powers concluded.

 

The new introductions will feature a bona fide step-up story utilizing more protection for the mattress and a new exotic velour surface material to aid the retail sales person in differentiating the new products from the conventional terry protectors found in the market place. The new velour mattress protectors have been appropriately dubbed “Velvet Touch” for their luxurious feel.

 

The line will consist of a good-better-best strategy with the current ever-popular Protect-All terry protector as the introductory offering. The next step-up protector is the Protect-All Supreme “Velvet Touch” consisting of the luxury velour top with special sidewall material, which offers 5-sided protection to the mattress. The top number, Protect-All Ultimate “Velvet Touch” is just that, according to Powers. “It’s the ultimate in luxurious mattress protection as it is a full encasement model featuring the plush velour top with special protection material on the sidewall and bottom and a zipper enclosure.”

 

“Our retail customers have been asking us for alternate protection stories and products for a while now,” Powers noted. “But we took our time to develop these products correctly. We were careful to bring something to market that had viable step-up premium features and added value. We believe we have a home run with the addition of the “Velvet Touch” collection,” he concluded. The “Velvet Touch” products carry a suggested retail of $109.99 and $139.99 respectively in queen size and are ready for shipment in August.
