InnoMax Integrity in Premium Air Sleep Systems

With the growing popularity of Air Sleep systems, there has been a proliferation of offerings in the marketplace. While the difference between Premium Air Sleep systems designed for everyday use and Occasional Air Sleep systems designed for temporary use has been pretty well defined over the past 3 decades, lately the line has become blurred. As such, more and more consumers are reporting a lack of gratification with products being improperly represented as Premium Air Sleep systems.

Also, retailers are feeling the brunt as more bedding dealers have ventured into the high tech world of multi-component Air Sleep systems. One thing is for certain, neither Consumers nor Retailers want to have problems with their Premium Air Sleep systems or experience the ill will associated with inferior quality.

Following are some product differentiations that more clearly define the difference between Premium Air Sleep systems designed for everyday use and Occasional Air Sleep systems designed for temporary use.

One clear differentiation is that Occasional Air Sleep Systems very often come with some form of storage packaging whether it be a bag or box designed for storing the product when not in use. Primarily designed for temporary guest use, travel or camping, Occasional Air Sleep Systems are generally identifiable by their collapsible construction characteristics. However, many Premium Air Sleep systems are shipped in smaller packages via package carriers for Consumer convenience in handling and setup. As packaging alone is not sufficient evidence, there are several other characteristics that can help Consumers differentiate systems including the most critical Air Sleep components; The Air Pump, The Air Chambers and The Mattress Enclosure.

The term Air Pump covers a lot of territory and includes everything from fish tank aquarium air pumps to air pumps for inflating automobile tires and more. As with the difference in power and performance between fish tank aquarium air pumps and air pumps for inflating automobile tires, the difference in power and performance between air pumps being used for Premium Air Sleep systems and Occasional Air Sleep systems can vary greatly.

Air Bed pumps generally fall into 2 classifications; Blower Types and Compressor Types. While Blower Types are primarily used for Occasional Air Sleep systems where hair dryer like air pumps are used to pre-fill camping mats or temporary guest beds, consumers should be aware that some Premium Air Sleep manufacturers actually use Blower Type air pumps for their entry level beds and require consumers to pay extra for more efficient Compressor Type air pumps.

“While we only utilize Compressor Type air pumps for our Premium Air Sleep systems” states Mark Miller President of InnoMax, a producer of air sleep systems for over 30 years, “there are also significant differences in power and performance between Compressor Type air pumps. Our acoustically dampened Luxury Support Pneumatic Air Pump provides optimum power and performance for quick and efficient Air Chamber adjustment,” according to Miller.

As with Air Pumps, the term Air Chamber encompasses a wide variety of products including everything from light duty swimming pool mats to heavy duty inflatable rafts and seagoing vessels that require unfailing airtight properties for the survival of their occupants.

While a variety of materials are being utilized for construction of Air Chambers, generally light weight vinyl is being used for Occasional Air Sleep systems and canvas reinforced vulcanized latex (similar to the material used in extremely durable airtight whitewater rafts) is being used for Premium Air Sleep systems.

“Even so,” notes Miller, “there are a number of differences in canvas reinforced vulcanized latex Air Chambers. For example our Luxury Support Air Chambers include a number of features not found in competitive products such as virgin latex (versus regrind material), thicker 25 gauge dual wall lap vulcanization and our pocket support design with perimeter edge support precludes the use of center dividers and provides more even support that can be visually demonstrated to consumers in our Comfort LineTM laser alignment Premium Air Sleep presentation”.

Mattress Enclosure options are no less varied than the choices in Air Pumps and Air Chambers. While Premium Air Sleep systems generally include a foam frame for edge support and overall mattress integrity, as usual there are vast differences in construction. “Notwithstanding the importance of using fine fabrics and incorporating quality tailoring, the internal construction of air sleep Mattress Enclosures is often overlooked,” says Miller. “Our Luxury Support integrated rail system ensures structural integrity and eliminates side bowing because rails are connected from top to bottom and from side to side.”

“The bottom line” concludes Miller, “is that consumers are well advised to familiarize themselves with product construction to ensure they are getting the best value for their Premium Air Sleep investment.”
