Unveils New Latex
Collection at July Las Vegas Market with SpringFree
II Line Up

Corporation (NYSE: ZZ), the world’s largest bedding manufacturer
used the July 2006 Las Vegas Market as an opportunity to firmly
plants its feet in the specialty sleep field by expanding the
company’s latex mattress collection. Sealy introduced its Spring
Free II by Sealy Posturepedic®, the bedding manufacturer’s newest
latex mattress collection offering retailers and consumers a wide
range of comfort options.
Scott Piper, the marketing director of specialty bedding at Sealy
expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity and growth of key
specialty sleep categories, “especially latex bed”. Latex is one of
the fastest growing segments in the bedding industry. “Sealy has
been the undisputed leader in the U. S. bedding industry for the
last thirty years because we are committed to offering consumers a
complete range of sleep solutions. Our SpringFree II latex line is
yet another example of that commitment,” Piper said.
Company spokespeople informed BEDROOM Magazine that the new latex
collection includes five models ranging from $1799 up to a suggested
$2999. The new latex models were designed to build on the success of
the original latex SpringFree line launched in 2005. This new
collection will expand SpringFree’s appeal to consumers who want the
benefit of latex, but desire a plusher feel in their mattress. The
SpringFree II features the same 100 percent latex core that was
offered in the original version, but is made with more comfort
materials, an improved fabric cover and offers enhanced aesthetics.
The result, according to Piper, is a sleep set with a luxurious
profile that stands out on the retail floor, while providing
consumers with softer feels and orthopedically-correct support.
 “The
SpringFree II collection,” says Piper, “will help retailers increase
their latex share of business. Retailers can help consumers discover
the benefits of latex with a wider array of comfort options.
SpringFree II models are soft, yet incredibly resilient. They push
back to provide total body support, help reduce pressure points for
more restful sleep and they provide individualized support for
sleeping partners.”
